Editing and deleting messages in Wazzup

In Wazzup, you can edit and delete outgoing messages. This simplifies communication and helps quickly correct errors.

Editing outgoing messages

Available on channels:

  • WhatsApp
  • Telegram Personal
  • Telegram Bot (except for messages with custom keyboards).
Messages sent outside of Wazzup cannot be edited in Wazzup chats. This is a limitation of WhatsApp: you can only edit messages on the device from which they were sent. For example, if a message was sent through the WhatsApp mobile app, it can only be edited from the mobile device and not in Wazzup chats.

How to edit a message:

1. After sending a message, click on the three dots next to the message → “Edit”.

2. The selected message will appear in the text input field, allowing you to make changes. Make the necessary edits and confirm them by clicking the green checkmark to the right of the input field.

3. To cancel the changes, click the “X” in the top right corner.

4. Edited messages can be changed an unlimited number of times.

After editing, the message will display the status “Edited”, and a tooltip “Message before edits” will appear above it.

Editing is available for 15 minutes after sending. After this, the edit button becomes inactive with the tooltip: “The message cannot be edited: more than 15 minutes have passed since it was sent.”

Editing media files

Editing messages containing media files is available on the following channels:

  • Telegram Personal,
  • Telegram Bot.

How to edit a media file:

1. Click on the three dots next to the message → select “Edit”.

2. A window will open for selecting a new media file from your device.

You can only replace images, videos, and files. Other types of attachments can only be deleted. You can replace only one media file at a time.

3. Once the new media is selected, the window will close, and the media will appear above the input field. Confirm the changes to send the edited message.

In Telegram Bot chats, the edit button for messages with custom keyboards is inactive. Hovering over it will show: “The message cannot be edited due to Telegram Bot technical limitations. You can delete this message and send a new one.”

As with text messages, you have 15 minutes after sending to make changes.

Deleting outgoing messages

Deleting outgoing messages is available on the following channels:

  • WhatsApp Web,
  • Telegram Personal,
  • Telegram Bot.

1. Click on the three dots next to the message → “Delete”.
