Editing and deleting messages in Wazzup

As in messengers, Wazzup supports message editing and deletion, allowing sales reps to quickly fix typos or delete accidentally sent messages.

How to edit a message

Text message editing is available on the following channels:

  • WhatsApp,
  • Telegram Personal,
  • Telegram Bot (except messages with custom keyboards).

Media editing is available on:

  • Telegram Personal,
  • Telegram Bot.
In Wazzup, you cannot edit messages sent from WhatsApp chats – this is a messenger limitation. Messages can only be edited from the device they were originally sent from.

How to edit a message

1. From a computer: Click the three dots next to the message → "Edit".

In the mobile app: Press and hold the message → a menu with buttons will appear → tap "Edit".

2. If you're editing a text message, the text will appear in the input field → edit the text.

Once you've edited the message, confirm the changes by tapping the green button to the right of the input field.

The status "Edited" will appear below the message, and the original text or media will be shown above the message.

Message editing is available for 15 minutes after sending. After this, the edit button will be inactive.

The edit button is also inactive for messages with Telegram Bot custom keyboards. When hovering over the button, you'll see: "This message cannot be edited due to Telegram Bot technical limitations. You can delete this message and send a new one."

Deleting outgoing messages

Deleting outgoing messages is available on the following channels:

  • WhatsApp Web,
  • Telegram Personal,
  • Telegram Bot.

1. Click on the three dots next to the message → "Delete".

2. In the pop-up window, confirm or cancel the deletion. Once deleted, the message cannot be restored.

3. After 24 hours, the delete button becomes inactive with the tooltip: "The message cannot be deleted: more than 24 hours have passed since it was sent."

Messages can be deleted within 24 hours for WhatsApp Web, Telegram, and Telegram Bot. After that, the delete button becomes inactive with the tooltip: "The message cannot be deleted: more than 24 hours have passed since it was sent."
